Bag an antique bargain
A antiques warehouse in Yorkshire has become the first and only antique dealer in Britain to be awarded with the English Tourist Board’s prestigious Quality Rose making it one of 600 quality-assessed visitor attractions.
The top honour was awarded following a successful assessment on its status as a tourist destination, based on its ability to provide a fascinating day out, as well as excellent customer care and facilities.
Rural
The enormous warehouse contains Europe’s largest antiques company, with thousands of fascinating items.
Until now, it has been one of the area’s bestkept secrets, largely because of its rural location.
Antiques are brought to life through room sets allowing visitors to walk through a Georgian bedroom, Edwardian parlour or Art Deco living room.
But unlike a museum, the furniture on showcan be bought and taken home.
Tomlinsons craftsmen are on site to restore furniture and provide behind-the-scenes knowledge and insight into the likes of French polishing, spraying, desk leathering and the art of gilding.
