PERSONAL SHOPPING FOR HOMES
Tomlinsons Antiques provides bespoke antique looks for individual properties

Making an impact with antique furniture can be hugely successful when striving for an individual look, but it can also be very daunting knowing where to start and what will suit the style of your property.  Tomlinsons Antiques has launched ‘Tomlinsons At Home’ – a service for customers who want to furnish their homes with antiques but are short of time or expert knowledge, or if they simply want some friendly advice and guidance.

Believed to be the first antiques design service of its kind, the emphasis is on providing a relaxed but professional service with the customer having as much or as little input as they require. Following an initial tour of the showroom between Wetherby and York to get a feel for periods and styles, Tomlinsons experts will visit the customer’s home, assess the spaces available and discuss tastes and requirements before drawing up CAD plans with suggested furniture in place.  So whether it’s reviewing the furniture for a Georgian manor house or providing suggestions for pieces that sit comfortably in a newly built home, customers can be sure they are putting together a cohesive look that’s entirely appropriate for them.

There is no additional charge for ‘Tomlinsons at Home’ and the team are happy to work alongside other professionals such as interior designers, or to let the customer take the lead and choose furniture to a tight brief.  Once a scheme has been decided, other elements such as lighting, rugs and upholstered items can be incorporated to complete the look.
At Home customers will also benefit from exclusive privileges such as discounts on both restored and un-restored furniture, first viewing of items not yet on the showroom floor and access to in-house restoration facilities and workshops throughout the process.

Sarah Worrall, sales director at Tomlinsons, says: “We have had a number of customers recently who appreciate the quality and beauty of antiques but by their own admission are not experts.  Others simply don’t have the time to shop around searching for the ideal pieces.  We have launched ‘Tomlinsons At Home’ to meet both these needs, allowing customers to make informed and appropriate choices with confidence but without having to spend a lot of time unless they want to.”
